Management Plan ("Grand Design")
Mitsui Chemicals has formulated a long-term vision for future growth entitled the "Grand Design".
In October 2007, Mitsui Chemicals Inc., marked the 10th anniversary of its founding. To mark the occasion, the Mitsui Chemicals Group formulated a Grand Design which lays out the Group’s corporate growth targets for the next 10 to 15 years. The Grand Design is the basic management framework for the Mitsui Chemicals Group and consists of its Corporate Vision, Business Plan and Action Guidelines.
The Grand Design is the Mitsui Chemicals Group's new initiative which aims to balance management between economic, environmental and social concerns to enable sustained growth into the future.

"Three-axes" management approach addressing the economy, environment and society
The Grand Design seeks to achieve balanced management by addressing environmental and social concerns instead of focusing solely on economic factors. This 3-axes approach of incorporating concern for the environment and contribution to society rather than solely a profit-first, economy-centric approach enables the implementation of sounder management while ensuring a balance.
"Chemistry, Innovation and Dreams"
Our corporate mission at Mitsui Chemicals is "to contribute broadly to society by providing high-quality products and services to customers through innovations and creation of materials, while keeping in harmony with the global environment." To achieve this mission, we established the following corporate target: "Chemistry, Innovation, Dreams" - The Mitsui Chemicals Group is constantly pursuing innovation and materializing dreams with the wonder of chemistry -”.
Three business segments: "Performance Materials", "Advanced Chemicals" and "Basic Chemicals"
We have established a three-pillared portfolio comprised of the Performance Materials, Advanced Chemicals and Basic Chemicals sectors.
Performance Materials involves all stages of polymer production from design to processing , Advanced Chemicals leverages Mitsui Chemicals' strengths, namely organic synthesis, precision synthesis and catalytic technology, while Advanced Chemicals integrates the former segments Petrochemicals and Basic Chemicals. These three segments will effectively deliver enhanced growth.
