Special Feature: Microorganisms Make Chemicals
Switching from using finite fossil resources as raw materials to using renewable raw materials. In order to achieve this, we are advancing the development of biocatalysis and next-generation fermentation technologies.
Progress Report 1: Chemical CO2 Fixation
We have been running a pilot plant for a year. We have made a big step toward achieving the ultimate in recycling, and have found new challenges that need to be tackled.
Progress Report 2: Plant-derived Polyurethane
One of the products of Mitsui Chemicals' initiatives to develop non-fossil, inedible raw materials is the commercialization of a seat cushion made from plant-derived polyurethane.
Desert Greening Activities
In 2007, we began a project aimed at contributing to desert greening using our products and technologies. This project has now entered its third stage.
