A Seminar on the New Rapid Testing System for Identification of Bacteria (Tm Mapping Method) to be Offered at Singapore International Infectious Disease Conference

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (Location: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Tsutomu Tannowa) will offer a sponsored session on the rapid testing system for the identification of bacteria at the Singapore International Infectious Disease Conference (SIIDC) to be held in Singapore from August 24 to 26, 2017.
Working with the University of Toyama (Location: Toyama City, Toyama; President: Shunro Endo), Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. aims
to commercialize the new testing system (Tm Mapping Method) to rapidly identify the causative bacteria of sepsis. The system
is a molecular diagnostic testing system that identifies the pathogenic bacteria within about five hours after blood collection
without requiring a blood culture, and expected to make it possible to choose the appropriate antibiotics based on the
identified pathogen at the early stage of infection.
In this session, four medical doctors, including the inventor,
Dr. Hideki Niimi from Toyama University Hospital, will talk about the current situation of rapid testing methods in Singapore
and Japan, Tm Mapping Method, and its result of the clinical research. A summary of the session is as follows:
