TAKENATE™ 500

Takenate 500, an aliphatic diisocyanate with an aromatic nucleus, gives some unique properties. The polyurethanes derived from Takenate 500 have better resistance to yellowing than those from aromatic diisocyanates, such as tolylene diisocyanate (TDI) and diphenyl methane diisocyanate (MDI). Takenate 500 shows higher reactivity than other aliphatic diisocyanates such as hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI).
Taking advantages of those unique properties, Takenate 500 and its derivatives are widely used for high performance adhesives for flexible packaging, plastic lenses with high refractive index, outdoor sealant, artificial leathers, coatings, paints, and polyurethane elastomers.

TAKENATE™ 600

Takenate 600, an aliphatic primary diisocyanate with a cyclohexane ring, has both advantages of hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI).
The polyurethanes derived from Takenate 600 have the same resistance to yellowing as those from HDI and IPDI. Takenate 600 shows comparable reactivity to HDI. The properties in curing process such as short tack-free time and the hardness of cured products are, however, rather analogous to those of IPDI because of its ring structure.
Taking advantages of those unique properties, Takenate 600 and its derivatives are used for high performance coatings and paints, architectural primers, plastic lenses with high refractive index, UV curing resins, artificial leathers, and polyurethane elastomers.
