The Performance Materials Business develops, manufactures and markets products in the “Automotive and Industrial Materials”, “Packaging and Engineering Materials”, “Living and Energy Materials” and “Information and Electronics Materials” sectors. In addition, 100% owned subsidiary Mitsui Chemicals Polyurethanes, Inc. provides polyurethane resins used in diverse range of everyday products as well as their raw materials.
Performance materials are distinctly different material products created from Mitsui Chemicals' proprietary catalyst and polymer technologies. They are also transformed into processed products with new functions through the fusion of processing technologies.
The Performance Materials Business aims to create a group of products which play a useful role within people's lifestyles and are friendly to the global environment.
