Functional Polymeric Materials Development Division

The Functional Polymeric Materials Business Sector's Functional Polymeric Materials Development Division harnesses Mitsui Chemicals' catalyst, polymerization, material design, and evaluation technology to create new materials for the electric, electronic, and automotive industries, and develops products for a wide range of purposes, for example, containers and packaging. In addition to this, the department also offers solutions in areas such as molding and processing technology, and helps customers with new product development and cost cutting measures.

Elastomer materials

Mitsui Chemicals' elastomer materials, including TAFMER™ olefinic modifiers, NOTIO™ nano-crystal structure controlled elastomers, Mitsui EPT™ ethylene-propylene rubber, and MILASTOMER™ thermoplastic olefinic elastomers, are widely used in the automotive industry and for other industrial purposes and are highly regarded the world over.

In the engineering plastics sector, we handle every step of the process from polymerization through to brand design, focusing particularly on super engineering plastics, in an effort to create new products in line with our customers' wide-ranging needs.

We continue to develop materials and processing technologies, including ARLEN™ semi-aromatic polyamides, and AURUM™ ultra heat resistant thermoplastic polyimides, particularly for the electronic data and automotive sectors.
