The Mitsui Chemicals Group is building forums for creative collaboration and experience sharing in scientific technology research by forming a “Global Science Network” with leading researchers throughout the world beyond borders between industry, academia and government. By integrating the knowledge created, the Mitsui Chemicals Group constantly pursues innovation and the materialization of dreams with the wonder of chemistry.
Global Science Network – Linking Researchers throughout the World
With the Sodegaura Center serving as the cornerstone in its R&D organization, the Mitsui Chemicals Group's three locations in Chiba (Sodegaura, Ichihara, Mobara) have been called the "Mitsui Research Triangle" and work on research and development for realizing innovative results in a forum for creative collaboration and experience sharing. Researchers from diverse backgrounds and with different approaches actively share opinions and ideas to create new technologies and new materials.
Furthermore, from the Sodegaura Center, the Mitsui Chemicals Group is building a solid network through exchange programs with major universities inside and outside Japan and hosting international symposia, and we receive objective evaluations, guidance and advice regarding our R&D activities from an external perspective. In addition to conducting joint research aimed at creating business opportunities, we are actively engaged in a variety of endeavors such as making presentations at academic conferences, publishing papers in academic journals, holding international symposia in the fields of catalysis science and advanced materials, and establishing the "Mitsui Chemicals Catalysis Science Award" since 2004 with the aim of contributing to the sustainable development of chemistry and the chemicals industry.
The Mitsui Chemicals Group utilizes this "Global Science Network" built through such endeavors to integrate the Mitsui Chemicals Group's knowledge and "creates innovative new technologies and new materials."
