Mitsui Chemicals, Inc.

Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. (Tokyo: 4183, President & CEO: Tsutomu Tannowa) announced that from April 2015 the Mitsui Chemicals Plant Operation Technology Training Center (located within Mobara Works in Chiba, Japan) will open its doors to provide “hands-on” training to Japanese Industry working with hazardous materials similar to those used at Mitsui Chemicals to bolster overall industry safety standards.

The Plant Operation Technology Training Center was established in October 2006 to provide training for the Company’s production operators in order to improve production site capabilities. From 2008, the Center launched training programs for production operators at overseas group companies to advance skills and knowledge and to instill the importance of “safety, good operations, and good facilities”. Training programs target development of personnel who are able to think for themselves and resolve on-site issues.

The Center has accepted visitors but until now did not offer curriculums for non-group companies. In response to requests from visitors seeking expert guidance in safety and plant operations, the Center has decided to open its doors in the hope of raising overall industry safety standards. Mitsui Chemicals aims to contribute to safety standards of the chemical industry by imparting its vast experience in plant operations and safety with “hands-on” curriculums.
